## Important clarification (apostille)

Kenya is **not** a member of the Hague Apostille Convention. No Kenyan authority issues apostilles. Services advertising a “Kenyan apostille” misrepresent the process. The correct route for most foreign use is: **notarization → State Department for Foreign Affairs authentication → embassy or consular legalization** in the destination country (or equivalent bilateral route where applicable).
